In order match GNU conventions
the 0.7.10 version will have the following --version format outputs:

$ vcdxbuild -V
vcdxbuild (GNU VCDImager) 0.7.10pre5

the first line is the only one standarized... the pattern should be
obvious...

for GUIs the following output will be useful (btw, it's important to put
the --gui option before the --version option!!):

$ vcdxbuild --gui -V
<version program="vcdxbuild" major="0" minor="7" micro="10pre5" 
platform="linux-gnu/i686" />
$
