That is great! Welcome to VM.

The best way for you to get started would be to download the latest
revision of the trunk from here

  https://code.launchpad.net/~vm/vm/trunk

and set up your VM to use the Thunderbird directory. Then you can use both
VM and Thunderbird on the same mail folders. However, don't try to modify
the same folder from both the tools at the same time! There are people here
that have experience with Thunderbird inter-operation. I use VM &
Thunderbird for IMAP folders, which are safe for concurrent access.

VM hasn't had SMIME support traditionally, but Arik Mitschang recently
contributed SMIME support. I just merged it into the trunk. You can try it
out and tell us how it works. Please send bug reports to
address@hidden (or use M-x vm-submit-bug-report).

VM works fine with MSMTP. But, how to set up vm-pcrisis to use it, I am not
sure. Has anybody tried it?

Cheers,
Uday
