                 Summary: Variable substitution in aliases commands
                 Project: WeeChat

                Category: commands
                Severity: 3 - Normal
              Item Group: command
                  Status: None
                 Privacy: Public
             Assigned to: None
         Originator Name:
        Originator Email:
             Open/Closed: Open
         Discussion Lock: Any
                 Release: dev
                IRC nick: Deltafire

Variables such as $nick are expanded when using user-defined aliases, for

/alias wc /msg #weechat

/msg #weechat hello $nick
 -> <Deltafire> hello $nick

/wc hello $nick
 -> <Deltafire> hello Deltafire

Hard to say if this is a bug, but it was certainly not expected behaviour.
