Details:

displays a string in a bar when a merged buffer is zoomed: /input
zoom_merged_buffer

new option added:
weechat.look.item_buffer_zoom: string used to show zoom on merged buffer (bar
item "buffer_zoom") [default: "!"]

/set weechat.look.item_buffer_zoom "!"

also tested with split windows.
