Salute a tutti.
Sarebbe bene inviare almeno un'e-mail all'ufficio brevetti americano,
che sta chiedendo commenti al pubblico in merito a una nuova direttiva
di "armonizzazione" delle normative sui brevetti; si tratta di un
accordo Stati Uniti / Unione Europea, con tutto quello che comporta.

Se siete d'accordo e volete aderire ma avete poco tempo potete copiare
il testo che ho scritto io; se lo modificate fa più effetto, ma è
importante mandarlo in fretta.

Subject: Comment about patent law harmonization

Dear Sir,

As a European software specialist I would feel deeply concerned and
personally outraged by a further attempt to sneak the legalization of
software patents into the European legislation, in complete disregard
of the opinions of the prominent experts in the field, and once more
trying to override the decisions taken by the democratically elected
European Parliament.

The very strong and essentially unanimous opposition to software patents
by the software development community deserves more attention,
particularly in the light of the negative past experience in the US.

Many studies (see [1]) indicate how software patents favor private
monopolies, create uncertainty for small and medium enterprises and
dramatically increase legal costs at the expense of innovation.
