I made a trial change, using '%h' to specify
a spaceless string in the parsing of xscale and
yscale.

It now loads Bill's fd file.  fd file saves ok
and sndtest builds and runs.

All the controls seem to work but the 'help' text
is mis-formatted.

Jens, will send you the modified source files.
