I've installed 1.4.4 on a Linux system (suse10, x86_64) and it appears to be working for the calc example. I want to use dejagnu for testing of an interactive command line program. This program is invoked using a driver (implemented in C), which does some command line processing, and eventually invokes Java. When I implemented a test for this program, the only output that seems to come from it is the copyright header. This header is printed by the driver, before invoking Java. I can run the equivalent expect statements with the expect command interpreter (5.43.0) and it all works fine, so I don't think there's a problem with my expect code. My conclusion is that there is something about dejagnu that causes it to lose the I/O connection to the forked child process (the Java part). I think my 'send' and 'expect' commands are just talking to the driver, not the Java command line program that I want to test. Is that a correct conclusion? Is there any way to configure dejagnu to work with a process and its children? thanks --Don From MAILER-DAEMON Sun Jun 28 05:40:04 2009 Received: from mailman by lists.gnu.org with archive (Exim 4.43) id 1MKqrk-0001YZ-Ej for mharc-dejagnu@gnu.org; Sun, 28 Jun 2009 05:40:04 -0400 Received: from mailman by lists.gnu.org with tmda-scanned (Exim 4.43) id 1MKqri-0001YD-Ip for dejagnu@gnu.org; Sun, 28 Jun 2009 05:40:02 -0400 Received: from exim by lists.gnu.org with spam-scanned (Exim 4.43) id 1MKqrd-0001Wl-Eg for dejagnu@gnu.org; Sun, 28 Jun 2009 05:40:01 -0400 Received: from [199.232.76.173] (port=54226 helo=monty-python.gnu.org) by lists.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.43) id 1MKqrd-0001Wi-7N for dejagnu@gnu.org; Sun, 28 Jun 2009 05:39:57 -0400 Received: from mailhub.air.net.au ([203.11.71.23]:56971) by monty-python.gnu.org with esmtps (TLS-1.0:DHE_RSA_AES_256_CBC_SHA1:32) (Exim 4.60) (envelope-from ) id 1MKqrc-00054w-L8 for dejagnu@gnu.org; Sun, 28 Jun 2009 05:39:57 -0400 Received: by mailhub.air.net.au (Postfix, from userid 500) id D4E5647B86; Sun, 28 Jun 2009 19:39:47 +1000 (EST) Date: Sun, 28 Jun 2009 19:39:47 +1000 From: Ben Elliston To: Don BREAZEAL Message-ID: <20090628093947.GA18594@air.net.au> References: <4A3C23A2.7060905@st.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <4A3C23A2.7060905@st.com> User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.18 (2008-05-17) X-detected-operating-system: by monty-python.gnu.org: Genre and OS details not recognized.
