I had thought I'd lost some old personal projects and etc configurations, due to some mistakes I made migrating between cloud storage providers, and made my peace with it. But recently I rediscovered the old Apple Time Capsule, with the "on-site" replica of my backups stored on its spinning hard drive. As I watched those backups restore, I realized I was restoring an 8-year-old backup using a "modern" release of Duplicity. Without its stability and its ease of use, I wouldn't have developed the habits to make backups that enabled me to recover these files nearly a decade later. It's also moments like those that make me appreciate the projects that keep on keeping on, even as time threatens the codebase with API changes, new feature requests, and life. I wanted to pass on to you guys once again the appreciation I have for your work as a long-time user, and for the way it just works when I need it to every time. And even if any of you decide to retire from the role of maintainer or duplicity gets sunsetted, I would still hold you all in high regard for the long history of contribution.
