This is a bugfix and feature release, please read the updating instructions below. About ==== GNUnet is a secure, trust-based peer-to-peer framework. A first service implemented on top of the networking layer allows anonymous censorship-resistant file-sharing. GNUnet's primary design goals are to protect the privacy of its users and to guard itself against attacks or abuse. GNUnet does not have any mechanisms to control, track or censor users. Instead, the GNUnet protocols aim to make it as hard as possible to find out what is happening on the network or to disrupt operations. Noteworthy improvements =================== - Implemented MySQL version of the dstore - Implemented SMTP transport based on libesmtp - Added support for MS Vista (Vista users should read http://gnunet.org/drupal/node/298) - Added AUTO mode for NAT - Added missing man pages - Made all exported symbols by GNUnet libraries start with GNUNET_ prefix - Improved integration of gnunet-setup with gnunet-gtk using gdsu - Improved support for mixed friend-to-friend and general topology - Improved performance for MySQL datastore - Improved performance for SQLite datastore - Improved DHT implementation - Cosmetic improvements to gnunet-gtk - Fixed progress meters for recursive download and publishing - Fixed problems in handling of signals in the HTTP transport - Fixed problems with gnunetd dropping permissions too early Updating ====== Run gnunet-update. Then run "gnunet-setup -d", some options have changed and some are new. You might want to consider enabling the HTTP transport. Also, for the dstore you can now select an implementation using MySQL -- previously we only had an SQLite implementation. Note that this is a new option and one of the two choices must be selected. "gnunet-setup -d" should pick "dstore_sqlite" by default, but if you are using MySQL for the main database, you may want to change this.
