Much of the software they discuss is Free. And keeping in touch with others would not be a bad thing. There seems to be a virtual consensus there as well that BigBlueButton is the best option for scaleable, stable video meetings. -Jim From MAILER-DAEMON Fri May 15 07:38:47 2020 Received: from list by lists.gnu.org with archive (Exim 4.90_1) id 1jZYfv-0001Ia-E6 for mharc-remotecommunication@gnu.org; Fri, 15 May 2020 07:38:47 -0400 Received: from eggs.gnu.org ([2001:470:142:3::10]:35234) by lists.gnu.org with esmtps (TLS1.2:ECDHE_RSA_AES_256_GCM_SHA384:256) (Exim 4.90_1) (envelope-from ) id 1jZU4S-0006H2-53 for remotecommunication@libreplanet.org; Fri, 15 May 2020 02:43:48 -0400 Received: from frv159.fwdcdn.com ([212.42.77.159]:53800) by eggs.gnu.org with esmtps (TLS1.2:ECDHE_RSA_AES_256_GCM_SHA384:256) (Exim 4.90_1) (envelope-from ) id 1jZU4Q-0005Vi-Ji for remotecommunication@libreplanet.org; Fri, 15 May 2020 02:43:47 -0400 DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; q=dns/txt; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=ukr.net; s=fsm; h=Content-Transfer-Encoding:Content-Type:Mime-Version:Message-Id: Subject:To:From:Date:Sender:Reply-To:Cc:Content-ID:Content-Description: Resent-Date:Resent-From:Resent-Sender:Resent-To:Resent-Cc:Resent-Message-ID: In-Reply-To:References:List-Id:List-Help:List-Unsubscribe:List-Subscribe: List-Post:List-Owner:List-Archive; bh=CHzr/lDN0bwM94Yf8p9mPWN+0/tT2spo3RrplCW+UgU=; b=Hi5NF5+kvgxIEdUhEvCcA/c5s5 bdSEM5Tif6vitAK1mqsy/BjASPOAuKZIdfohZeiRjaZ8uLkC30IdoKwPSJ5c2OVOfy88AEOd7S5Ka 540wzxmKmV+IudizKy+RuKqGGMZ7g/5ZBsosOxHie3t/ksHE1uqKDz8jBOtoTncnFLJ4=; Received: from [46.37.209.157] (helo=Ganymede) by frv159.fwdcdn.com with esmtpsa ID 1jZU4M-0008tg-5C ; Fri, 15 May 2020 09:43:42 +0300 Date: Fri, 15 May 2020 09:43:35 +0300 From: v_2e@ukr.net To: remotecommunication@libreplanet.org Subject: ToX Message-Id: <20200515094335.56cf7e0d750a44f75a2d8110@ukr.net> X-Mailer: Sylpheed 3.7.0 (GTK+ 2.24.32; x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu) Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Authentication-Result: IP=46.37.209.157; mail.from=v_2e@ukr.net; dkim=pass; header.d=ukr.net Received-SPF: pass client-ip=212.42.77.159; envelope-from=v_2e@ukr.net; helo=frv159.fwdcdn.com X-detected-operating-system: by eggs.gnu.org: First seen = 2020/05/15 02:43:42 X-ACL-Warn: Detected OS = FreeBSD 9.x or newer [fuzzy] X-Spam_score_int: -20 X-Spam_score: -2.1 X-Spam_bar: -- X-Spam_report: (-2.1 / 5.0 requ) BAYES_00=-1.9, DKIM_SIGNED=0.1, DKIM_VALID=-0.1, DKIM_VALID_AU=-0.1, DKIM_VALID_EF=-0.1, FREEMAIL_FROM=0.001, RCVD_IN_DNSWL_NONE=-0.0001, SPF_PASS=-0.001, URIBL_BLOCKED=0.001 autolearn=_AUTOLEARN X-Spam_action: no action X-Mailman-Approved-At: Fri, 15 May 2020 07:38:46 -0400 X-BeenThere: remotecommunication@libreplanet.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 15 May 2020 06:43:48 -0000 Hello! Its cryptographic security issue: https://github.com/Tok= Tok/c-toxcore/issues/426 makes and forces me to stop using it, because it is unacceptable (at least for me) security protocol from cryptography point of view -- it is just not serious, especially taking in consideration that there are many proven and well-studied protocols (Noise for example). --=20 Sergey Matveev (http://www.stargrave.org/) OpenPGP: CF60 E89A 5923 1E76 E263 6422 AE1A 8109 E498 57EF --n8g4imXOkfNTN/H1 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAEBCgAdFiEEIpNVsPbb+nIRVbvGHh7ERWs1C6UFAl6+hZIACgkQHh7ERWs1 C6WUXhAAncyStg3oYFO8OKFQ89Ye2K+U7l2RuD3AH++xkstokyWxsdURralXFvNN Qi9bRO5aGN65eYdh/wJC+xJV0u9QF1oxejHISQFr84ojqqdmxNFZ22SviWKYL6P8 SBnWJoueVT76dDiEpZe3qbfUnSmcCzi+BlDeQ3szo3OuUrZbq7DtPltz9rlUKcTw v+ZwhdO7t5kUcHocRlHWIlVZjNasEXZnoETGIWh7d5/n/GQuIXB7uE9uDNOZ5vKz U3ZxT1t+4lJfuJpjqp7oBs8kT0ZfzEpIAAmVMFWK1375d8QZTtaJSQ3RrUqq8ZRO Kqy2s81HnM/cdc54zGDmawgIAmUMWifjQTqU0JQHP5OFrlHb/OF1xZNInNkdQT1p i2nR8gieUd+18SAQhWiiH3uKZDficmFYyq0Bi/W2yeIzNuJ0bb5/bhs43JmwCNMJ VCO5i/VYQtbldO1kdXxctTDzx69v7lotOx0hhfgPKYAJBNr5pTMcHtFBRvaUNDWt Jj+KQNtwqXCWYYPEefi0jJuN9c4biY6bmHFI5Bg5jAT7U5BOZZMrwOfRTX5/qCDT GGedMkuaE06Au3x7rIQiDuUjqg0mtuEhH8PgHxsmodg9uK+B5gW0H0BnSA93EvFX BHg9+l5z96dM0aZMnh7iydyEsxwdv61Vr7DxHTEurewoDGrBAWI= =ExCG -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --n8g4imXOkfNTN/H1-- From MAILER-DAEMON Thu May 28 18:12:42 2020 Received: from list by lists.gnu.org with archive (Exim 4.90_1) id 1jeQlW-0004Py-MI for mharc-remotecommunication@gnu.org; Thu, 28 May 2020 18:12:42 -0400 Received: from eggs.gnu.org ([2001:470:142:3::10]:34998) by lists.gnu.org with esmtps (TLS1.2:ECDHE_RSA_AES_256_GCM_SHA384:256) (Exim 4.90_1) (envelope-from ) id 1jeQlV-0004Pl-7r for remotecommunication@libreplanet.org; Thu, 28 May 2020 18:12:41 -0400 DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; q=dns/txt; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=fsf.org; s=eggs-gnu-org; h=MIME-Version:Date:Subject:To:From:in-reply-to:references; bh=TL5PMlxB56aSAsh5h8A8UHE7azBZOI/gU/A2or2ej5c=; b=mdQDb8vwpohX60AIxnlfHMLQJ coCocCuLhEzJNqX100V1VuGb0PR+e1p8SHgE1Edj1DjFcZxQhoSSskXHif1c8JTizcU3Ly0r/XRNB pqoPUq8JHjPulUmgTwh1oJzM+OjU5XJKa01teA+NkLCjxw/kNT61rZsZazlDDPAGNH8NIwRK6KsLE pKxhIga1q+p7JX+n8t5NSxJsRDetO1F1jmWl2ceH3kc7/IDpxx91JQO43b/Ov3vTknG2X6DVCzxQK zmPsZqenJ34Cywqhvzl9i1NNQzVP4B5ItYWUF2TlJ0cGZTdbjn2bvDXtmSz0GPKIx0rZBuXeY/XCJ s7lCTFe9Q==; Received: from mail.fsf.org ([2001:470:142::13]:33550) by eggs.gnu.org with esmtps (TLS1.2:ECDHE_RSA_AES_256_GCM_SHA384:256) (Exim 4.90_1) (envelope-from ) id 1jeQlU-00075J-Un for remotecommunication@libreplanet.org; Thu, 28 May 2020 18:12:40 -0400 DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; q=dns/txt; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=fsf.org; s=mail-fsf-org; h=MIME-Version:Date:Subject:To:From:in-reply-to:references; bh=TL5PMlxB56aSAsh5h8A8UHE7azBZOI/gU/A2or2ej5c=; b=vY2uECyCkbFAdiRQ+Qm/K6QwQ bfIueQgU03DcqVGne8eVlDX+FxPhxBhCMl8i6Wk5IMy1H72PAn11+zjZMEnlkeH3msEIvPvwesG2J bK7CKmQYyYN4U8cHH8vDzk/s/dc6B2sSda60HWtNW3ubAKELChL63j5lGc217WdopOWp+XPpB77Ou 2PWjFcIsOIChZ0NuClj5WKHF858QLEGl6gL+PBDahJVBBql9DU+IUlDHjjkdgqNppYkh5atcA3xqz KYLL9DSaMpCD5pkcc0qfnQMF3FVtb7mwF/ZusP7woNnKPqEV+E32xDARy+gKT+9ZJMDJ7zGygNbbp UaBOys6ag==; Received: from [2607:fb90:18d9:60f9:795a:70e7:fcdc:c31b] (port=52788 helo=boris) by mail.fsf.org with esmtpsa (TLS1.2:ECDHE_RSA_AES_256_GCM_SHA384:256) (Exim 4.90_1) (envelope-from ) id 1jeQlU-0008LB-F8 for remotecommunication@libreplanet.org; Thu, 28 May 2020 18:12:40 -0400 From: Greg Farough To: remotecommunication@libreplanet.org Subject: New Jitsi Meet server for FSF associate members Date: Thu, 28 May 2020 18:12:38 -0400 Message-ID: <878shbn1yh.fsf@fsf.org> User-Agent: Gnus/5.13 (Gnus v5.13) Emacs/27.0.91 (gnu/linux) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; boundary="=-=-="; micalg=pgp-sha512; protocol="application/pgp-signature" X-BeenThere: remotecommunication@libreplanet.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 28 May 2020 22:12:41 -0000 --=-=-= Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, remotecommunication list! If you're subscribed to the FSF's emails, you may have seen that we've launched a freedom-respecting Jitsi instance for all of our associate members. It's a membership benefit that we've been working on for some time, and we're thrilled to be able to finally announce it to everyone and see it up and running. We've been mentioning Jitsi for some time, but until now could not recommend a server that did not recommend proprietary software or serve proprietary JavaScript. We're happy to say that we've closed that gap now! This initiative grew out of our efforts to free remote communication tools, particularly as people become so increasingly dependent upon them. If you're able, we would appreciate any help you can give in spreading the word. Putting my FSF staff hat aside for the moment, I'm definitely excited about it just from a software freedom activist perspective. If you're a member, I sincerely hope it will be of use to you in communicating with the people you care about while not compromising your freedom.
