That sounds spectacularly useless.  Sections can be expected to be
more or less an identifying location.  Equations most certainly are
not, unless you are thinking of a contained label.

It would be more interesting for .dtx files to note, say, a
potentially enclosing \macro environment.  Or the name of definitions
or so.  But that would seem rather complicated.

Anyway, AUCTeX does not keep track of the document structure at all,
so if you want to propose anything, you are better off proposing it to
Carsten Dominik, the author of RefTeX.
