hi,sorry, that isn't exactly what i want... that would require setting a variable globally. i don't want to do that.
i wish to construct a function that autosaves (if needed) and then runs Tex-command-master *without* asking the user to confirm the command by pressing enter. i want it to run LaTeX (even forcing LaTeX if it thinks something else should be ran, like View).
i found an exact answer to my question by googling for "TeX-save- query" here:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/auctex/2005-06/msg00000.htmlwhich was a bit of an obscure way to get an answer, but i guess it's all about knowing what to ask for with google :-)
