[AUCTeX] A bug of font?

Hi,

Is this a font problem? The last "}" in the following equation should look 
like scriptsize.  However, in my emacs, its font size is same to the regular 
text as "x":

$x_{\sqrt{\sqrt{2}}}$

BTW: I'm using AUCTeX  w/ preview-latex11.82
                        MikTeX 2.4
                        CVS Emacs 22.0.50.1
                        Windows XP.
