Thanks for looking into it.  However, it seems that
add-log-current-defun first looks to see if
add-log-current-defun-function is defined.  However it does not look
like it is a buffer local variable (but then, I am not very familiar
with what makes a variable buffer-local).

I'll try customizing it next time I need it.
