well, I am simply dumb. Obviously what differs is the input file. For the default (pdflatex) it must be some dvi, for xetex I don't know if xdv or perhaps pdf, for luatex I don't know if dvi or pdf. Sorry for noise but I simply register this, as I don't have the time to investigate the issue.
Running `Preview-Ghostscript' with ``/Library/TeX/texbin/rungs -sOutputFile\=aucxetex.prv/tmpAAVPBX/pr1-\%d.png -q -dDELAYSAFER -dNOPAUSE -DNOPLATFONTS -dPrinted -dTextAlphaBits\=4 -dGraphicsAlphaBits\=4 -sDEVICE\=png16m -r240.615x252.2 -dDELAYBIND'' My gs version is 9.54 $ gs --version 9.54.0 xetex/luatex display the problem I mentioned but not default (which has "compile directly to PDF") which I also get from M-! then gs --version Best, Jean-François
