Yes, I remember something similar. However, last week when I tried to
write the "whole code", I found that it took too much time for me, and
what little bit I did get done was quite possibly buggy. In contrast,
the fix I installed was easy to write and I have a much greater
confidence that I didn't introduce a bug.
I'd like to see the better/simpler solution done after 2.2 comes out,
if someone has the time to tackle the transformation.
