Hooboy. sort-compress failed spectacularly on OSF. From the errors (lots of "task_create() failed for pid 12044: maxuprc (=64) exceeded for uid <uid>"), it looks like it is blowing some process limit (looks like the limit is 64?).
Also, a lot of the tests broke due to a problem with perl on this particular machine, so be aware that my coverage for OSF was spotty at best.
On the bright side, IRIX 6.5 was clean except for the previously mentioned perl issue, AIX 5.1 was clean (but see strndup note), PA-RISC HP-UX 11.00 was clean, x86 Solaris 10 was clean, SPARC Solaris 5.7 was clean, and x86 Linux (kernel-2.4.21 glibc-2.3.2) was clean.
