We have been working with Michael LeBlanc at Xandros Support and have had
one problem after another with the new Xandros 4 which we purchased in
December and installed. See details below.

Hi Michael  here is the update so far;
in regards to the .swp file. We deleted it by thinking we could get it
back by the commands. It did not come back though we followed what you
said.

vaio:~# swapoff-a

bash: swapoff-a: command not found

vaio:~# swapon-a

bash: swapon-a: command not found

vaio:~# swapoff -a

vaio:~# swapon -a

swapon: cannot stat /boot/linux-swap.swp: No such file or directory

vaio:~#

stat items:

vaio:~#

Please note that the virus scannere seemed to work in the administrator
window; however it detected a "virus" in the boot/linux-swap.swp. It could
not repair but only quarentine. When deleated it was not able to be restored
as evidenced by the above quoted windows generated in administrative mode
and in the root console. Said virus was:"DOS.Ramthes.655" and the user mode
found at least one "virus" :"BAT.Haj.bsig. Both these "viruses" were in the
/boot/linux-swap.swp. The "linux-swap.swp" no longer exists. Security Suite
in the administrative mode shows all is well; however the user mode shows
the Security Suite as not ever completed a scan and will start a scan at odd
times and seems to always be scanning. Verbose check does not find any
problems and says scan okay for abnormalities.;

Joy told us to delete the virus in the swap.swp but when we did it took out
the file as well and it is not there any longer, what you told us has not
brought it back at all. . There apparently is no disinfect system only
quarentine and delete which takes out the entire file.

One other issue apparently there is no Flash Player and never has been.
Not 9 or 10 all programs requiring a flashplayer all repeatedly say I need
flash player 9. a couple only asked for 10. I think the xandros 4 sold
to us back in Late November, early December was not complete. We have had
trouble on going. We never had trouble with Xandros 3 other than it was
outdated and many programs on the net it was no longer working with
adequately. The gimp and photo shop is very hard to understand or use and
don't like it. Also noticed the graphics most that were in 3 are not in 4
which is really disappointing as well.
