So I think it's best to write it in texinfo format right from the
beginning.

Note for the maintainer: This module's defaults are suitable for
unithreaded applications; packages with multithreaded applications should
also invoke @code{AC_DEFINE([USE_UNLOCKED_IO], 0)}.
