Sorry, that was put in by my build procedure because earlier
versions of groff required that option. I assume that this is
no longer needed? Anyway, sorry about the false alarm.

I did a test that used -gstabs+ instead of -g. That worked. One
downside (I think) is that the resulting executable is debuggable by
GDB but not by Sun's debuggers.
