    doc/groff.texi: Expand '|' operator discussion.
    
    Split discussion of operator application in horizontal and vertical
    contexts.  Add example of vertical usage.
    
    Drop redundant discussion of '|' from description of `sp` request.
    
    Migrate terminology: "scaling indicator" -> "scaling unit".
