Details:

Subject: "doc/automake.mom" and "bootstrap.conf":
"non-recursive-gnulib-prefix-hack" is deprecated in gnulib.

  In the file "doc/automake.mom" is this sentence:

Note also that in order to make `gnulib' work with this
non-recursive schema, the `non-recursive-gnulib-prefix-hack'
configuration should be selected in bootstrap.conf.

  This file in gnulib was deprecated December 19th 2021.

  This can thus also be removed from the file "bootstrap.conf".

  Explanation is in "git/gnulib/modules/non-recursive-gnulib-prefix-hack":

Notice:
This module is deprecated. Instead,
  - use the gnulib-tool option '--automake-subdir',
  - remove the explicit invocation of build-aux/prefix-gnulib-mk from your
build
    system.

  This is used by me from about 22nd January 2022:

gnulib_tool_option_extras="--makefile-name=gnulib.mk --automake-subdir"
