As observed with the example input provided in the original submission of bug
#61675: "on typesetters, the baselines of the columns don't align--there's a
sliver of extra space at the top of the second." This still happens with the
latest tmac/e.tmac.
(As an unsurprising consequence of this, the baselines of the lowermost
footnotes in the two columns are also misaligned--but by more than the column
text itself. This may be another manifestation of the same bug, or a separate
one.)
The bug does not appear if the footnotes are taken out. (This can be done by
changing the example input's "\\nN%11=0" to "\\nN%11=13", making the condition
always false.)
