On IRIX 6.5, "gmake check" fails like this:
PASS: touch/fifo
PASS: touch/no-create-missing
no-dereference: skipped test: this system lacks the utimensat function
SKIP: touch/no-dereference
gmake[4]: *** No rule to make target `touch/no-right', needed by `test-
suite.log'. Stop.

Why has the dependency name 'touch/no-rights.log' been truncated??
GNU make version is 3.79.
