The man page text is:
--key=KEYDEF ...
... KEYDEF is F[.C][OPTS][,F[.C][OPTS]] ...
... "OPTS is one or more single-letter ordering options [bdfgiMhnRrV],
which override global ordering options for that key."
I.E. they correspond to the single letter options -b, -d, ...
which are documented independently.
