Oh! I do it routinely because at one point coreutils maintainers were
asking for people to do it more often -- and because if there is
anything whose component tools are routinely run as root in normal
operation, it's coreutils, so testing them that way too seems like a
good idea anyway (given that the maintainers were asking for it, so it
was presumably at least somewhat safe-ish).
(The builds here happen in a container, so rm -rf / and the like are
hopefully recoverable. Sure, as root you can break out, but that takes
at least a little explicit action which coreutils's testsuite is
unlikely to do!)
