At least the kitchen sink reflects on the nature of Emacs in contrast to a purple rubber ball. And you can always use a hyper-realistic image of a stainless steel sink in order to make it more appealing. Of course this won't help the uninitiated to get the connection between a kitchen sink and Emacs. -- Ralf
