Maybe (probably?) not what you are looking for but if you want something
that meets the output requirements for LaTeX export (i.e. to PDF), you
can use the =mhchem= package [1] and typing
\(\ce{^{21}Ne}\) and \(\ce{^{3}He}\)
will generate what you want.
No special editing unfortunately.
