The question is more on the side of LaTeX, and the enumitem package
(which you must have loaded for those options. See:
https://www.ctan.org/pkg/enumitem). For the effect you are looking for
you can try this (for horizontal lengths, it is better to use 'em' than
'ex):
#+LATEX_HEADER: \usepackage{enumitem}
#+attr_latex: :options
[labelindent=0em,itemindent=0em,align=right,labelwidth=10em,labelsep=.5em,leftmargin=15.5em]
- short label :: this looks fine
- very annoying overly long label :: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer
adipiscing
elit. Donec hendrerit tempor tellus. Donec pretium posuere tellus. Proin quam
nisl,
tincidunt et, mattis eget, convallis nec, purus. Cum sociis natoque penatibus
et magnis
dis parturient montes, nascetur ridiculus mus. Nulla posuere. Donec vitae
dolor. Nullam
tristique diam non turpis. Cras placerat accumsan nulla. Nullam rutrum. Nam
