I was just in the process of updating this node: making the list
complete and adding cross references. It's quite a lot of work which
made me wonder about the purpose of an exhaustive list of hook
variables. I couldn't quite see it. Hooks are usually used to
customize some feature X; or they are run at some occasion Y. If
someone want to adapt feature X, or do something at occasion Y, they
would look for X and Y in the manual and find the appropriate hook
variable. So I agree with Dave that it is a good idea to just remove
the node and replace it with a paragraph in the node Hooks (which I'm
updating as well) that gives some tips on finding information on hook
variables.
