Unfortunately the Emacs CVS history seems to be going the way of
XEmacs' anyway. It has otherwise-OK entries with `author:
uid<something>' and ones like this for some reason:

Revision 1.23
date: 2004/09/04 13:13:44; author: miles; state: Exp; lines: +12
Revision: address@hidden/emacs--cvs-trunk--0--patch-523

Merge from Emacs--gnus--5.10, gnus--rel--5.10

Patches applied:

 * address@hidden/emacs--gnus--5.10--base-0
   tag of address@hidden/emacs--cvs-trunk--0--patch-464

 * address@hidden/emacs--gnus--5.10--patch-1
   Import from CVS branch gnus-5_10-branch
