(menu-bar-mode 1) causes beeps in *info* |

Today's GNU Emacs CVS snapshot, Sun, 2004 Nov 7 13:50 UTC
GNU Emacs 21.3.50.19 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.2.4)
started with
/usr/local/src/emacs/src/emacs -Q
When a Menu bar exists, and I enter an Info buffer for a section that
is below a chapter, I hear an extraneous beep.
To duplicate, start Emacs and evaluate the following:
(info "(emacs)Spelling")
(find-file-other-window "~/.emacs")
Move point from one buffer to the other. No beeps.
Then, create a menu bar:
(menu-bar-mode 1)
Move point from one buffer to the other. Beeps.
I have not been able to figure out what is causing this. According to
the log, the last change to menu-bar.el was on 2004/11/02, which is
before this began. So some other change must have occurred and the
existance or not of a menu bar must trigger the bug.
In GNU Emacs 21.3.50.2 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.4.13)
of 2004-11-07 on benthic
Distributor `The XFree86 Project, Inc', version 11.0.40300001
configured using `configure '--with-type1' '--with-x-toolkit=gtk' '--with-pop'
'--prefix=/usr/local' '--with-sound=yes''
