Agreed. Setting same-window-* to nil is probably OK, but we should never
mess with special-display-*.
I was surprised to discover just now that
switch-to-buffer-other-window only binds same-window-*. If that
is right for switch-to-buffer-other-window, it is probably right
for the customize* commands also.
Starting today I probably won't have good access for over a week.
Could someone please install the change?
