tramp and open recent

Symptoms:

Open recent also records information about remote files (such as the
ones opened with tramp).  The disadvantage is however that just having
remote files in the recent list, triggers opening of connections to
these servers, which is annoying if one doesn't want to do anything
with these files anymore.  Yes, they can be deleted from the list, but
that would mean that you have to edit the list every time after
opening a remote connection.  Yes, they can be excluded, but I think
that is too forceful a measure.

I don't really have any firm ideas about how one could go about this
(I don't know why the connection is opened in the first place).
