I'm sure you understand why that's happening.
Do you have a suggestion for how to avoid the problem?
I myself turn off the menu-bar, so I access the menu via C-mouse-3 which has
none of those problems ;-)
In any case I don't think it's a bug: if it bothers you, don't use
mouse-autoselect-window.
