gnus-registry loading error

Subject: gnus-registry loading error

User-agent: Gnus/5.11 (Gnus v5.11) Emacs/21.3.50 (gnu/linux)

This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English if possible, because the Emacs maintainers
usually do not have translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the address@hidden mailing list.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

Sometimes when starting gnus I get:
"Error in ~/.gnus.registry.eld line <n>". Looking at line n, it will
look like this:

("<address@hidden>" ((mtime 17014 36329 501899) (sender . "Chris Gordon-Smith
<address@hidden>") (subject . #
("linux, \xc3\xa7\ a pue" 0 7 nil 7 9 (untranslated-utf-8 231 help-echo
utf-8-help-echo display "\\347") 9 14 nil))) "uk.comp.os.linux")

Everything works after manually removing the #"\n" and the properties
from the string "linux, \xc3\xa7\ a pue" so that the cons looks like
this (subject . "linux, \xc3\xa7\ a pue").

In GNU Emacs (i686-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit)
 of 2005-03-06 on runcible
Distributor `The XFree86 Project, Inc', version 11.0.40100001
configured using `configure '--with-x-toolkit=yes''
