Looking at your examples,
export PATH=$GNU_EMACS/bin\
:$ICECREAM_HOME/bin\
#!/bin/bash
pushd /download/org/gnu/emacs/emacs &&\
cvs update -dPAC &&\
pushd /download/org/gnu/emacs/emacs-build &&\
it seems that making TAB not alter indentation of continuation lines
would be ideal for you. I'd expect you to be highly enthusiastic about
the idea--how come you are now only lukewarm?
