The Japanese Carbon Emacs Package Emacs I mentioned before does not show the behaviour I described for the X client, although it's 22.0.50 and source is probably from end of September.

But it's there again in my own, self compiled Carbon Emacs 22.0.50, that uses the same sources (except some minor C code differences) as the X client one. And the same compiler switches – it could be just a question of optimisation flags!

I'll try a CVS update later this local evening (also to check NeXT) and I'll reconfigure for less optimisation during compilation.

Government is actually the worst failure of civilized man. There has never been a really good one, and even those that are most tolerable are arbitrary, cruel, grasping and unintelligent.
