Some minor additional information:
- I did a "make bootstrap" just to be sure - no change
- It does not seem to related to the actual file or the diffs; i can
open a file that has the
"cvs diff" output without a crash, and I can compare the file and
its base revision on disk
using dired-diff without encountering the crash.
- Crash happens both with v-= in a vc-dired buffer and with C-x v = in
a file buffer
- If I use C-x v u to discard the changes, it also does a diff, but
that does NOT crash emacs,
only an explictly requested diff does.
- Changing the local file (well, deleting lines from top or bottom)
does NOT make the problem
go away; but no other file reproduces the crash so far.
