We have previously on the developers list discussed coding systems for *Shell* buffers on w32. I have sent some suggestions, but I do not think any changes have been done yet. Could we please try to fix this?

For cmdproxy *Shell* buffers I think we have a good solution (not yet installed, please see my last message on the subject on the developers list) for the coding. For *Shell* buffers running MSYS or Cygwin I am a bit more hesitating. I believe the coding systems I proposed will work, but I am not sure how it will interfere with settings in those shells. And I do not know how to discover if MSYS or Cygwin are used. Maybe send something to ask the shell at startup?

We have also discussed the tab file name completion in a cmdproxy *Shell* buffer. This is currently broken. I sent a suggestion to fix it, but I have got no feedback whatsoever on this.
