Ping, anyone in CC land?

The problematic "[^()]*" part was installed 12-Dec-99, before which it
was just "^\\<.*". If it really needs to match across newlines, maybe
it could match up to some finite number.

nonhanging open braces. Don't match the throws clause that might
follow the function prototype in C++.
