Just a quick hint missing..

i wrote:

After the patches have been applied and less(1) and grotty(1) and
mdoc(7) are in place, simply do

  $ ./mdocmx.sh mdocmx.7 | groff -Tutf8 -mdoc | less

and enjoy manual references.
Or try

  $ ./mdocmx.sh -t Ss mdocmx.7 | groff -Tutf8 -mdoc | less

for a table of content, too.
