GNU Queue is a load-balancing system that lets users control their
remote jobs in an intuitive, transparent and nearly seamless way. It
supports process migration as well as more traditional email-based
batch and distributed computing. GNU Queue uses a unique, potentially
highly scalable P2P protocol for job scheduling. An alternate
client-server protocol is also supported.
The work that needs doing, aside from fixing bugs, is mainly to
support the alternate protocol as a run-time option, and to correct
portability problems. Stress testing with hundreds of simulaneous
jobs would be useful.
If you are a capable C programmer, and you would like to help the GNU
Project in a substantial way, you can volunteer for this job. If
you're interested, please send me mail.
