Subject: [Savannah-hackers] savannah.gnu.org: submission of GNU Search

A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

Cyril Bouthors <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: other
Other License: No license since this is a virtual project. (am I wrong ?)
Package: GNU Search
System name: gnu-search
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

\"GNU Search\" will help volunteers who want to maintain the
htdig installation to work together for the search facility of
www.gnu.org.

Three volunteers (working together in the same company)
proposed their help. They know that this task should not be taken
lightly. They already have an extensive knowledge of Free Software
search engines since they maintain one.

The first step is to install the upgraded version of ht://dig
on fr.fsf.org for test purposes since two of the volunteers are
already involved in the system administration of this specific
machine.

The beta version of ht://dig uses GNU mifluz, the volunteers
are already familiar with the GNU project and they also know GNU
mifluz (Igor is the debian packager of GNU mifluz). It seems to me
that allowing them to work in the direction they suggest will

        - improve the search facility of www.gnu.org,
        - make it more GNUish,
        - bring three volunteers willing to maintain this on the long
          term.
