Johann Gunnar Oskarsson <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: MASP, the Assembly Preprocessor
System name: masp
Type: non-GNU
Description:
MASP is an assembly preprocessor base on GASP (the one once distributed with
binutils, but depricated now). MASP aims to be platform independent, something
GASP wasn\'t.
This might need a little explanation. While GASP runs on almost all systems,
it\'s directives conflict with MIPS.
There have been some syntax changes in MASP but it also aims at 100% backwards
compatibility with GASP (as of binutils 2.13.1) via syntax change directives;
see the MASP README file for details.
MASP is currently being distributed at:
http://cosmos.raunvis.hi.is/~johannos/masp/
MASP is written in C, and depends on itself at runtime, but gcc at compile time
;)
MASP\'s primary platform is Linux (GNU) but has been known to work on FreeBSD
and Irix.
There is no documentation yet, the language (syntax) is still evolving, and the
docs from GASP need rewriting anyway.
