Now also the precompiled AUCTeX 11.88 package for Emacs 24.4 on
Windows is available.  I hope it'll work, there have been some changes
into the Emacs package for Windows (starting from the name itself of
the archive).

I remember AUCTeX 11.88 is also available via GNU ELPA, which may be
easier to install and you'll also receive some bug fixes.
