Merry Christmas everyone! :-)

We have received a new submission at https://savannah.nongnu.org/patch/?7048.
The macro detects the Google v8 library. The code is fairly straightforward,
but there is a bit of redundancy. For instance, the macro implements its own
version-number comparisons instead of re-using AX_COMPARE_VERSION.

I'm also not particularly thrilled about hard-coded magic default search paths
like /usr/local, /opt, etc. Those paths don't make sense on some systems, like
NixOS, and might actually be harmful, but that is a minor issue.

Does anyone else have suggestions or opinions regarding that macro?
