Presumably "./configure CC='clang -std=gnu17" is a workaround, though admittedly this is awkward.

Is anyone aware of any issues with master as it is? I've been running
with it for months.

Thanks for the info. I've been too swamped to shepherd a release, unfortunately. But we should do one soon.
