Has anybody looked at (epm) Easy Package Manager (http://www.easysw.com/epm/?
>From the FAQ:

It is a simple tool that generates software and patch distributions in
various formats, including:
AT&T Software Packages ("pkg"), used by Solaris.
Debian Package Manager ("dpkg")
HP-UX Software Packages ("swinstall" or "depot")
IRIX Software Manager ("inst" or "tardist")
Portable (installation and removal scripts with tar files)
Red Hat Package Manager ("RPM")

You provide a list file and epm can generate different packages based on
that. EPM is under GPL. Would it make sense for automake or autopackage to
generate epm list files instead of rpm or dpkg specific scripts?
