I don't recall ever being "bit" by being drowned in detail, but I have
been "bit" many times by packages which only admit to compiling
"foobar.cxx" or linking "foobar.lib" without providing any clue as to
which parameters are being used so the problem can be corrected.
Typically the authors of such packages have gone to far greater effort
to produce the simple "compiling foobar.cxx ..." message than they
have with assuring that their package compiles for anyone but
themselves. It is a case of focusing on the wrong things.
